What to Expect Before Delivery

Commercial gas hot plates and stock pot ranges require advance planning to ensure safe installation, proper ventilation, and reliable operation. Before our unit arrives, please review the following preparation steps carefully.

Delivery and handling

  • Commercial gas hot plates and stock pot ranges are shipped via LTL freight and are heavy. Plan ahead for safe movement from the delivery location to the installation site.
  • Depending on access, the unit may need to be uncrated before moving indoors. Ensure adequate manpower or material handling equipment is available to move the unit safely without damaging floors, doorways, or the equipment.
  • If you require a liftgate or other special delivery accommodations, note this in your order comments. Additional charges may apply depending on carrier requirements.

Installation location and support surface

  • Confirm the installation area meets required clearances for safe operation, service access, and airflow. Clearances to combustible and non-combustible surfaces must comply with local codes and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Countertop hot plates and stock pot ranges should be installed on a stable, level, and non-combustible surface where required.
  • For hot plates, verify the counter, stand, or equipment table can safely support the unit weight during operation.
  • For stock pot ranges, verify the floor can safely support the unit weight during operation.
  • Ensure adequate space around the unit for cleaning, grease management, and routine maintenance.

Ventilation and air movement

  • Gas hot plates and stock pot ranges generate heat and combustion byproducts and typically require installation under a properly sized commercial ventilation hood.
  • Ventilation systems must comply with all applicable local codes and regulations, including fire suppression requirements where applicable.
  • Confirm sufficient make-up air is provided to replace exhausted air and support proper burner operation.
  • Avoid cross-drafts from HVAC vents, fans, or open doors that could interfere with burner performance or flame stability.

Gas supply preparation

  • Confirm the gas supply type, capacity, and connection location meet the unit requirements.
  • A manual gas shutoff valve should be installed in the gas supply line ahead of the appliance.
  • Gas pressure regulation and connections must comply with all applicable codes and manufacturer specifications.
  • Plan for professional leak testing after installation using approved methods.

Professional installation

  • Commercial gas hot plates and stock pot ranges should be installed by a qualified technician or licensed tradesperson.
  • Proper installation is critical for safety, code compliance, and long-term performance.

Preparing these items in advance helps prevent installation delays, protects your
equipment, and ensures reliable operation from day one.

Upon Delivery

Inspecting your shipment carefully at the time of delivery is essential to protecting your equipment and allowing any freight issues to be resolved quickly.

Inspect before signing

  • Inspect the packaging thoroughly before signing the delivery receipt.
  • Look for visible signs of damage such as dents, punctures, crushed corners, or evidence of mishandling.
  • If any damage is visible and you are not willing to accept the shipment, refuse delivery and clearly note the reason on the Bill of Lading (BoL).

Note damage on the delivery receipt

  • If you choose to accept delivery with visible damage, all damage must be clearly documented on the BoL before signing.
  • General statements such as “subject to inspection” are not sufficient for freight claims.
  • Take clear photos of the packaging and any visible damage at the time of delivery. This documentation helps us assist you efficiently if a claim is required.

Uncrating and concealed damage

  • After delivery, carefully remove all packaging and inspect the unit thoroughly.
  • If concealed damage is discovered after uncrating, contact Noriota immediately. Freight carriers enforce strict timelines for reporting concealed damage.
  • Take clear photos of the damage, the packaging, and the product identification label. Providing complete documentation helps us work with the carrier on your behalf.

Before installation

  • Do not install or operate the unit if shipping damage is present.
  • Retain all packaging materials until the unit has been fully inspected and confirmed to be free of damage.

Prompt inspection and clear documentation allow us to support you quickly and minimize delays to installation or operation.
